Legislation
The Center works closely with members of both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate on a daily basis to advance legislation that promotes:
- Tax incentives for energy efficient and renewable energy technologies in buildings
- Ensures building envelope research is funded adequately
- Appropriations to advance the knowledge base, development and deployment of environmentally responsible, high performance roof systems - activities include advocacy on behalf of targeted research within the Federal government and funds for workforce development in clean technology industries
- Tax abatement for environmentally responsible practices in the manufacture, installation and recycling of roof products and services
Last year, the Center successfully advocated for passage of a package of expiring tax relief provisions that provides incentive's in energy efficient and renewable energy investments.
